On Tuesday, November 27th, 2002, Yad Vashem hosted an evening in honor of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims against Germany, to mark its 50th anniversary. The event was organized jointly by Yad Vashem and three additional Israeli recipients of Claims Conference funding: Ghetto Fighters’ House Museum (Beit Lohamei Haghettaot), Massua and Moreshet. Present at this special event were Ms. Limor Livnat MK, Minister of Education, Mr. Sallai Meridor, Chairman of the Jewish Agency, Rabbi Dr. Israel Miller, President of the Claims Conference,members of the board of the Claims conference, the directorates of the four Holocaust memorial institutions, as well as many Holocaust survivors. The program included speeches and musical interludes, and the end of the evening, a certificate of honor was presented to Rabbi Dr. Miller by Ms. Edna Solodar, Chairperson of the directorate of Ghetto Fighters’ House Museum, and Prof. Szewach Weiss, Chairman of the Yad Vashem Council.
