In August 1942 a Stanislawow ghetto inmate poured acid on the policeman who came to arrest him, and then escaped. On August 22, 1942 Germans ordered a gallows constructed and pits dug holes onn Belvederskaya Street in the ghetto. About 50 Jews (including the head of Judenrat, Goldshteyn, other members of the Judenrat, and Jewish police) were hanged on the gallows and electricity poles. About 1,000 Jews were shot to death on Belvederskaya Street and about 100 Jewish patients from the ghetto hospital were killed by Germans with the assistance of local policemen.
