The International School for Holocaust Studies

Postcards Design Project

Designer: Carmel Aviram

In my work I tried to make people realize that the Holocaust is very relevant for us today. I chose to make my point in a visual language that people can relate to and easily understand - through the visual language of the internet. I merged sites of dismantled Nazi camps from Google Earth with diagrams of Nazi camps. By creating a combination of "now" and "then" I wish to emphasize the fact that in places where people live and work today, there once occurred horrific events. Even though many sites have vanished the Holocaust should not be forgotten.
