Rosemarie Koczÿ

Rosemarie Koczÿ (Germany, 1939 - United States 2007)

Born near Recklinghausen. In 1942, her parents, sister and Rosemarie were transported to the Traunstein camp, where they remained until liberation in 1945. Her mother survived but was deemed unfit to raise a child; therefore, Rosemarie lived with her grandparents in Germany. When her grandparents died, she was placed in an orphanage where she was forced to live as a Christian. In 1959, she left Germany and moved to Switzerland, where she studied in the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Geneva. In 1984, she married the composer Louis Pelosi and immigrated to the United States.
