A Bar/Bat Mitzvah marks the beginning of a young child's lifelong adult connection to the Jewish people. Bar/Bat Mitzvah twinning projects are an increasingly popular way in which to strengthen a child's identification with his or her Jewish heritage by forging bonds with individual children who perished during the Holocaust.
Enrich your child's coming-of-age experience in Israel with a unique visit to Yad Vashem that resonates with the past, present and future.
Your visit to Yad Vashem will begin with a customized tour of the Holocaust History Museum, specifically suited to meet your family's individual needs. With a focus on the fate of children and teenagers during the Holocaust, our expert guides take into account your personal family background and the interests of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah child.
Yad Vashem will twin your son or daughter with a child who did not have a chance to mark his or her own Bar/Bat Mitzvah. The child celebrating will share something in common with the boy or girl being remembered – a birthday, a name or place of origin. At the end of the tour, your child will be presented with a Page of Testimony of the boy or girl that he or she is commemorating as well as a special certificate acknowledging participation in the twinning program.
“Although today is a day for rejoicing, I ask you to remember Yitzchak and the millions of boys and girls like him who were never given a chance to grow up and take their place in the world of adults." Michael S., 13 years old
"We were extremely touched with the Bat Mitzvah twinning and shall endeavor to pass our experience on to other people and encourage them to do the same."
"Describing our experience about Noah's participation in the Twinning Program brings tears to the eyes of everyone we speak to - it was truly a key highlight of our experience in Israel."
