Yad Vashem places great importance on providing high-quality, professional, and accessible services to all its visitors—both at its physical site and on its website—including individuals with disabilities.
Yad Vashem is continuously working to enhance accessibility on both its physical premises and its website.
Website Accessibility
- Most of the information pages on the website meet the "AA" accessibility standard according to the guidelines of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).
- The website is designed and developed to accommodate users with visual, hearing, and motor impairments.
- The website is compatible with Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer 10 and above.
- All images are provided with alt-text.
- Most video content includes a transcript in the original language.
- The website supports various screen resolutions.
- Users can control text size on the screen.
- Users can adjust the contrast of the display.
- A consistent and hierarchical structure is maintained across all page types.
Partially Accessible Sections
The Yad Vashem website is an extensive platform containing tens of thousands of content items in seven languages, built layer upon layer over many years. Naturally, some sections may not yet meet the desired accessibility standards. In 2016, we initiated a process to migrate and upgrade the website to a modern platform, with a strong emphasis on accessibility and mobile compatibility. Significant work remains ahead, but we are committed to meeting these challenges.
