Auschwitz-Birkenau, Poland, A selection on the platform
It has been brought to our attention that there are several instances on our website where camps are referred to as "Polish death camps." Yad Vashem is dedicated to providing accurate and updated historical information. in 2006 Yad Vashem previously supported the request of the Polish Government to add the words "the former Nazi German Camp" to the name of Auschwitz - Birkenau, and continues to support this decision. We are grateful that this unfortunate mistake has been brought to our attention and we are already in the process of correcting it in our website.
