Due to the large number of murdered Dutch Jews and the many decades that have passed since, for the largest part of the restituted sum no beneficiaries were expected to still be alive. Therefore it was decided to declare these funds as collective property of the Dutch-Jewish community, and to designate it for two destinations: as personal payments to individuals and as allocations for collective goals in the Jewish community.
The organizations of the Dutch-Jewish community in Israel, including "Maror" drew up a policy for management and distribution of these funds and decided that those will support projects of the Dutch-Jewish community in Israel for in various fields such as religion, security, education, research, remembrance etc.
