Further pedagogical considerations
- Contextualize the tragedy of the Holocaust within time - accentuate that for survivors, the “story” doesn’t end with the end of World War II.
- Stress the fundamental challenges and changes that had to occur in order to try and return to life after the Holocaust.
- Outline the new developments unfolding in the DP camps - restoration of one’s individuality, restoring societal and social circles (family, communal living, group self-governance, rules, a framework, daily routine.
