German Justice Minister at Yad Vashem

The German Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection, H.E. Mr. Heiko Maas, visited Yad Vashem on 7 February 2017. Israeli Minister of Justice H.E. Ms. Ayelet Shaked and Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev accompanied the Minister during his visit. Together they toured the Holocaust History Museum, participated in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance and visited the Children’s Memorial.

At the end of his visit, Minister Maas said: "We must never forget the crimes Germany did to the Jews. Remembering is not a weakness. From remembrance comes responsibility. And it's responsibility that makes you strong."
