The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland Simon Coveney visited Yad Vashem today. Minister Coveney toured the Holocaust History Museum, guided by Yad Vashem Libraries Director Dr. Robert Rozett, participated in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance and visited the Children's Memorial – a unique memorial to the 1.5 million Jewish children murdered during the Holocaust.
"This is the deepest and most horrifying scar in the body of mankind," Minister Coveney wrote in the Yad Vashem Guest Book. "This place [Yad Vashem] ensures the world never forgets. So many terrible lessons for the future, so much pain for so many connected to this shame."
