Stropkov, Slovakia was home to a vibrant Jewish community for hundreds of years. In 1941, the Slovakian authorities closed down Jewish businesses and seized Jews for forced labor. In March and April 1942, young Jewish men and women were deported to Majdanek and Auschwitz. In May, entire families were deported. Tova, Salomon, Frederika, Helena, Mikulas and Israel Findling who were deported together all perished.
