Sunday to Thursday: 09:00-17:00
Fridays and Holiday eves: 09:00-14:00
Yad Vashem is closed on Saturdays and all Jewish Holidays.
Entrance to the Holocaust History Museum is not permitted for children under the age of 10. Babies in strollers or carriers will not be permitted to enter.
In this gallery visitors are exposed to the horrific universe of the concentration camps: the dehumanization, prisoner humiliation, loss of personal identity, starvation, immense suffering, and death.
As the end of the war approached the last remaining camp inmates were forced to go on the notorious and murderous death marches. The exhibit tracks two of the routes: the march of male prisoners from Auschwitz-Birkenau, and a group of women forced from camps in Upper Silesia to follow an 800km course to the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia in the freezing cold without any food.
At the end of the gallery are testimonies of survivors in which they describe their moment of liberation. They bear witness to their sorrow, their pain of bereavement, and search for loved ones. Also displayed are the first images and documents released to the world by the liberating soldiers.

"The work of Yad Vashem is critical and necessary to remind the world of the consequences of hate"
