Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi

 

On Tuesday, 14 June 2022, the Prime Minister of Italy H.E. Dr. Mario Draghi will visit Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center. The Prime Minister will tour the Holocaust History Museum, take part in a ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance, visit the Children’s Memorial and sign the Yad Vashem Guestbook. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan and Israel's Justice Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Gideon Saar.

There will be photo-ops in the Hall of Names, the Hall of Remembrance for the memorial ceremony, and outside the Children’s Memorial. Media interested in covering the visit must RSVP to simmy.allen@yadvashem.org.il, and arrive at the Hall of Names with a valid GPO card by 10:00.

 

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen

 

Later in the day, the President of the European Commission H.E. Ms. Ursula von der Leyen will visit Yad Vashem.

Accompanied during her visit by Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan, President von der Leyen will tour the Yad Vashem Archives, where she will receive a briefing from Yad Vashem International Relations Division Director Dr. Haim Gertner on the status of Yad Vashem's work with the European Holocaust Remembrance Infrastructure (EHRI). Following this presentation, she will participate in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance.

There will be photo-ops in the Hall of Remembrance for the memorial ceremony, and outside the Hall of Remembrance for the Guestbook signing. Media interested in covering this visit must RSVP to simmy.allen@yadvashem.org.il, and arrive at the Hall of Remembrance with a valid GPO card by 17:30.
