The President of Panama H.E. Mr. Juan Carlos Varela will visit Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, on Thursday, 17 May 2018. The President will tour the Holocaust History Museum, participate in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance, visit the Children's Memorial and sign the Yad Vashem Guest Book. The President will be accompanied by the First Lady of Panama, Lorena Castillo de Varela, and Vice President and Foreign Minister of Panama, Isabel Saint Malo de Alvarado.
There will be photo-ops in the Hall of Names, Hall of Remembrance and at the signing of the Guest Book outside the Children's Memorial. Media interested in covering the visit must RSVP to simmy.allen@yadvashem.org.il, and arrive at the Hall of Names with a valid GPO card, by 10:30.
