Yad Vashem is closed on Saturdays and all Jewish Holidays.

Entrance to the Holocaust History Museum is not permitted for children under the age of 10. Babies in strollers or carriers will not be permitted to enter.

Senator Barack Obama at Yad Vashem Tomorrow

United States Senator Barack Obama will visit Yad Vashem tomorrow, July 23, 2008. He will be guided by Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev.

The Senator will tour the Holocaust History Museum, including the Hall of Names, participate in a wreath-laying ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance, visit the Children’s Memorial, and sign the Yad Vashem Guest Book at the Janusz Korczak Square.

Media must arrive at the Hall of Remembrance by 10:00, with valid GPO card, and register with the Media Relations Department: 02 644 3410/2 or 050 200 7072.

The memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance will take place at 10:30 and is OPEN coverage.

The rest of the Senator’s visit is POOL coverage.

The POOL should arrive at Yad Vashem’s Visitor’s Center by 9:30.
