US Secretary of State Colin Powell visited Yad Vashem on February 25, 2001. Following a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance and a visit to the Children's Memorial, Secretary of State Powell stated:
"We must never forget and always remember the spirit of those who perished during those terrible times..."
