Czech Foreign Minister to visit Yad Vashem and sign the Holocaust Survivors' Declaration

26 February 2025

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic H.E. Jan Lipavský will visit Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, on Thursday, 27 February 2025.

Minister Lipavský's visit will include a tour of the Holocaust History Museum and participate in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance, alongside Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan.

During his visit, Minister Lipavský will sign the Survivors' Declaration, which was composed by a group of Holocaust survivors at a conference at Yad Vashem in 2002.

The signing of the declaration comes ahead of Israel assuming the Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) in March. Israel has initiated a global campaign of recommitment to the message and principles of the declaration, in which the survivors recall the horrors they endured, urge for universal human rights, denounce antisemitism, and pass on the torch of remembrance to future generations.

Members of the media interested in covering the visit are required to RSVP in advance and to meet in the Hall of Names at 11:50.
