On the 25th of October 1944 an RSHA transport from the ghetto-camp Theresienstadt containing 1,715 Jews - men women and children - arrived at Auschwitz-Birkenau. During the selection 219 men were chosen to remain alive and were sent to various labor sub-camps of Auschwitz. 215 women passed the selection and were sent to camp B-IIb of Birkenau. The rest were murdered immediately in the gas chambers. 159 Jews from this transport survived until the end of the war.
